| More Information: In the 1911 Canadian Census, Leslie was listed as adopted by Hannah's mother Ellen. Leslie did not arrive in New York with Ellen in 1908, he arrived with Hannah in 1911. The birth Certificate for Leslie proves that Hannah was the mother (no father listed). Leslie's birth was registered in Lambeth (maybe a mother and baby home) whilst her mother's address was listed in Bedford. Leslie's Christening record states his mother as Elsie Armstrong (no father listed), Hannah used the name Elsie in the 1921 Census. Elsie was also the name used in her husband's obituary. |
